Here’s what you need to do to get started in your distance education courses after you’ve completed registration.

You will receive announcements from PCC in your LancerMail e-mail account.

Check your email address for a WELCOME LETTER from your instructor.

Make certain you have the right computer requirements.

Buy your books — either on-campus or at the Online Bookstore.

Get to know the Learning Management System (CANVAS).

If it’s your first time taking an online or hybrid course, check out these resources to get you stared on CANVAS:

On the first day of class:

 

  • Log in to your course.
  • Look around the classroom to get a feel for where things are & how the course is structured.
  • Print & read your Syllabus.
  • Look for Announcements.
  • Complete your Course Check-In Assignment (just logging in to your course doesn’t count, you’ll need to actively participate).
  • Email your instructor if you have any questions or concerns.
